The Elevated Aspirations Programme is a two week police insight work experience with the Metropolitan Police, personal development workshops led by key community members, and 1:1 life coaching for each student.
The Elevated Aspirations Programme was born out of the want and need for the Black community to be the change they want to see! Discussions and presentations were shared between the Elevated Minds Youth board and Doreen, retired Borough Commander Dr. Victor Olisa QPM and Officer PC Nsikan Etuk. Others that were involved and supported included Commander Dr. Alison Heydari, Commander Ade Adelekan, Borough Commander Collin Wingrove and Superintendent Dan Ivey.
This programme aims to impact each individual, the community and other stakeholders.

Feedback from Jordan ‘The most interesting would be forensics and it gave me more insight on how they actually do everything. I would give the programme a 10/10 because compared to my friends work experience, we had fun’.
Overall, the programme increased positive relationship opportunities between youths and the police; established meaningful connections with the young people; Police self-esteem improvements where we saw large numbers of police engaging with young people.
There was 100% positive feedback from the young people who took part in this programme.
