OUR WORK

For Institutions & Corporate

We work very closely with schools and the Met Police to provide training and workshops to help develop officers.

However, our programmes would work well in other institutions and corporate organisations.  Here are the programmes that we run:

01.
Cultural Awareness
This programme is young people led where they deliver training to new MPS recruits every 4-5 weeks.

The purpose of this training course is to begin to build confidence and trust in the police from the Black community and vice-versa, achieved by the young people highlighting and discussing personal experiences of interactions with the police. An alternative approach to Stop and Search is demonstrated and discussed during the training.

02.
Unconscious Bias Training
During this 2-day programme, we work with professionals who work with inner-city teenagers to raise awareness about unconscious biases, promote cultural sensitivity, and provide strategies for creating an inclusive and equitable environment.

This training is essential for educators, those in social care and professionals within the Criminal Justice System.  It uses a coaching approach to help professionals to develop a reflective practice and to become aware of their biases.

03.
Reverse Mentoring
This is a 6-month programme combining workshop facilitation, training young people in mentoring skills and reverse mentoring.

Young people learn tools that they can use with their mentee via fortnightly workshops led by a qualified and experienced coach/workshop facilitator.  Once trained, the young people on the programme then enter into a professional mentoring relationship with a member of staff from a corporation, mentoring them around subjects such as communication, bias and relationship building.

04.
Restorative Approaches
Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges

This programme aims to develop positive relationships between the police and young people, by promoting understanding and learning on the part of the young person and the police officer who stopped and searched them.

It increases safeguarding support for vulnerable individuals and can inform the training and procedures of stop and search.
